Rhinoplasty may be Right For You if You Struggle with the Following;

  • Your nose is a source of insecurity
  • It makes your face look out of balance
  • Ethnic nose issues
  • Large nostrils bother you
  • Nasal tip issues
  • Birth defects
  • Trauma to nose
  • Deviated septum requiring septoplasty surgery

Different Types Of Rhinoplasty Surgery

After your consultation Dr. Schoemann will recommend the proper rhinoplasty for your condition.  There are three types of rhinoplasty performed today, Dr. Schoemann will recommend one of the following;

  • Standard Rhinoplasty– the incisions of this procedure take place inside the nostrils, the nasal bones, cartilage and soft tissue are reshaped to improve the external contour.
  • Open Rhinoplasty-  this technique is often performed on more difficult cases with a large nose.  This procedure involves external incision across the columella, the bones, cartilage and soft tissue are reshaped with direct vision by the surgeon.
  • Tip Plasty-  this procedure is performed with an abnormal tip that only needs to be corrected.

How Long is The Recovery From Rhinoplasty

Recovery from Rhinoplasty is relatively quick, although the ultimate results will not be seen for a year.  You can expect to need someone during the first 24 hours to help you after surgery, but thereafter you will be able to get up and walk around.  Most patients feel comfortable going out and about after the first week, and most go back to work after two weeks as long as the job does not require any heavy lifting.  It is important to know that you your nose will heal and take shape over a one year period.
